Our picks for the race

To win: Panjari 10/1

Winner on the flat over 1m2f in Germany. Fine first season hurdling winning 3 novices which in his most recent one he beat Dartmoor Pirate who went close in the EBF final at Sandown. Come at a cost on his mark but could have more potential on dryer ground.

Each-way: Fire Flyer 12/1

Winer of an Ascot Bumper the finishing second in a Listed race at Cheltenham. Seemed to be progressing well when beating Secret Squirrel at Taunton off level-weights. No show in the EBF Final at Sandown. Retains ability off a nice mark.

Our picks for the race

To win: Nick Rockett 8/1

Finished 7th 30 lengths down in the Irish Grand National when jumping with no fluency. Which was his first try at 3m+ has something to prove today. possibly bounce back with a big run and hes Paul Townend's pick of the Willie Mullins 3.

Each-way: Does He Know 30/1

Won at Cheltenham in November 2022. Won at Doncaster in first-time cheekpieces last month, Headgear remains so could have a big run in him.

Each-way: Annual Invictus 20/1

Won at Doncaster in the Great Yorkshire Chase in January and that form has been franked by the runner-up winning. came a fair sixth in this race last year. Could have a big run in him if the ground stays good.

Willie Mullins has more or less wrapped up the trainer's title after winning the Randox Grand National with I Am Maximus (7/1Fav) and the Scottish Grand National with Macdermott (18/1).

Willie Mullins is currently sat on 25 wins, 77 placed efforts which puts him on £3,105,966.

Dan Skelton is sat on 117 wins, 381 placed efforts which puts him on £2,917,288.

Paul Nicholls is sat on 131 wins, 256 placed efforts which leaves him on £2,858,820.

Willie Mullins and his right-hand man Paul Townend

Willie Mullins will be only the second Irish trainer to win the British trainer's championship 70 years after the first. For a man that has won it all across England and Ireland including the Gold Cup at Cheltenham and the Randox Grand National he really showed effort to get this massive victory across the line when he had runners at Perth, Kelso, Ludlow, Ffos Las and now Sandown.

It's exciting for these smaller courses to have horses to watch trained by the Irish mastermind Willie Mullins and fellow top trainers. Very exciting end to an under-par jumps season.
