Harry Cobden seals jump jockeys title with winners at Chepstow.

Harry Cobden clinched the Jump Jockeys Championship with a win in the first race at Chepstow riding the Henry Daly trained Spring Gale. Cobden over the 12 months has picked himself up a lot of spares to clinch this title at the age of 25, the youngest jockey to win this title since Ap McCoy who won it when he was 21. Cobden then went and got another win at Chepstow just to cement his title aboard Florencethemachine trained by Paul Nicholls the man who backed Cobden and seen his excellence from a young age and brought him through to be the jockey he is today.

The jump jockey's championship is fought over for 12 months between the 1st of May to April 27th.

This year it went right down to the wire almost to the final day of the jumps racing season between Harry Cobden and Sean Bowen. They both had exceptional season riding over 150 winners all of Britain. Cobden is Paul Nicholls main jockey, so he has exceptional backing with top class horses throughout the 12 months. Sean Bowen is well backed by Olly Murphy who himself had an exceptional season training 100 winners most of them teaming up with Bowen.

It's been really refreshing to see two young jockeys go toe to toe during the season giving there all, most importantly its stayed competitive without it going over the line and getting dirty which would have taken the public eye of how talented these two jockeys are.

"I'm gutted to lose the championship this season but have had a great time fighting against Harry Cobden who has been a gentleman to battle with, Congratulations to Harry and I'll be back next season!" - Sean Bowen on X

Let's hope these two and many more jockeys get involved and will keep giving us these amazing battles across the jumps season and taking it down to the wire and giving fans an amazing skeptical to follow and support.

Shoutout to Edward Vaughan today for riding his first professional winner under rules against the pros even beating this year's champion Harry Cobden at the age of 16! Super impressive achievement. He got his winner at Chepstow on the 26th of April aboard Silver In Disguise trained by his father Tim Vaughan, he won the race in impressive style when getting his route to victory cut off by the leader meaning he had to take a big pull to the right to get the horses head out from behind the leaders rear and soon after he got him rolling just to get up in the shadow of the line. Super day for the whole Tim Vaughan yard and every involved big congratulations from everyone at Regal Racing.

Let's hope for an exciting season finale at Sandown today and all jockeys finish the season safe and uninjured, and all horses get home safe. Big congratulations for all jockeys, trainers and owners for completing a grueling season. We hope for an even more competitive season next time around.
