Betfred Derby Preview - All Runners and Riders.

We will cover both the Betfred Derby (Saturday) and Betfred Oaks (Friday) both ran over 1 mil and 4 furlongs at Epsom. This years Derby favourite is City Of troy at 7/2 after bombing out at the Guineas a couple weeks ago. Ylang Ylang heads the Oaks market for trainer Aiden O'Brien currently at 2/1. We have 2 world class races on our hands but will we have yet another shock result.

Our picks for the race:

To win - Rubies Are Red 11/2

Is a sister to 8 winners. Most notably Found and the dam of 2021 Oaks winner Snowfall, Placed in her maidens at Galway and Leopardstown. Eye-catching performance in Lingfield Oaks trial when running green and flying home to come second by a nose. Looks like she will love every yard of this and open to more progress.

Each-Way - Secret Satire 12/1

Won on second start at Lingfield over 1m on All Weather. Front-running 3rd at Sandown then won the Group 3 Musidora at York challenged 2f out and stayed on well to win. Trip might pose a problem but runner-up has won a listed race since. Should have a good chance with Oisin Murphy booked who cant stop riding winners.

Our picks for the race:

To win - Los Angeles 4/1

By Derby winner Camelot in a family of many talented horses like Arc winner Urban Sea and also 2000 Guineas winner King's Best. Very big 2 year old and unbeaten so far including a group 1 at Saint-Cloud. Had no worries when switched to Good ground at Leopardstown where this gelding won again. Extra 2 furlongs could play in this horses favour. Should be bang there whatever the weather.

Each-way - Macduff 14/1

By Derby winner Sea The Stars out of sister to top-class miler/sire Kingman. Ran well in listed and group company as a 2 year old following winning a Newmarket maiden. Benefited from a useful comeback behind one-time Derby Favourite Arabian Crown in Group 3 Classic Trial at Sandown. Could have a lot of improvement and should have a big show.
